Opening Your Pod: Open the folded pod outward like opening a book, allowing the frame to spread into two flat panels. Locate the center frame wire along the bottom “spine” or middle seam of the pod. Firmly pull the center wire outward and away from the folded position. As the bottom frame expands, the upper frame will naturally begin to rise and unfold. Continue guiding the frame open until the pod fully pops into its three-dimensional square shape. Adjust the corners and frame as needed to ensure the pod is fully expanded and properly aligned.
Straightening a flipped memory wire
- Lay the Pod flat and unzip the side doors fully. This removes tension from the frame.
- Turn the Pod upside down. It makes the wire easier to work with.
- Rework the wires: IMPORTANT Hold the wire about 12 inches apart and gently straighten it using a circular “push out → down → back toward you” motion, like a crank, similar to the arm movement used on an elliptical machine. The wire is a memory wire, so it should return to its correct shape.
- Flip the Pod upright and shake gently. Hold the front middle corners and shake it like you would shake out a rug — this helps the wires settle.
- Test opening/closing. It should pop up and fold more easily afterward.
